On Nov. 4th the 2007 NA Cup concluded at the Kentucky Horsepark.
As usual, CMGA was well represented with three teams in the Masters Division, and by The Smoking Guns in the Fossils/Forever Young Division.

(large image, please be patient)
This years NA Cup was a truly international circuit with teams from Middlesex, Botswana, and now Norway, each having participated in a different leg of the competition.

Sept. 16, 2007 at the Cruikshanks’ property.
I worked this event as the Starter, so action shots from me are scarce (ie. non-existant).
After the event, I spent some time capturing images of the festivities.

Hot off the presses, my first book.

Weighing in at nearly 50 pages it covers our trip to Botswana, beginning with the coaching and riding clinics, to the first ever Africa Cup, and wraps up with our two-day safari in Chobe National Park, Botswana.

On or about June 7th, I submitted an article to the Barrie Advance written by the lovely and talented Samantha Cole.
This 324 word opus was published – after having been “edited” – uncredited, and languished in the online archive.

The third leg of the North America Cup was held on August 18th-19th once again at the Barrie Raceway in Barrie, Ontario.
The five teams [Quicksilver, the Spartans, the Dragons, the Flying Tigers, and Dennis & The Blondes] enjoyed fantastic weather and good ground conditions, with the EMTs only having to be dispatched twice.
Between team heats there was also an Individuals competition, and yes, Sean took the prize money home. Again.
While the competition was as serious as ever, the smiles and stories shared in the barn between ground sessions reminded everyone of the quality of the games community.

The North America Cup is an important part of our Mounted Games season, and is a great example of the co-operation between CMGA and USMGA; it deserves to have a site dedicated solely to it.
Soon enough, it will.
Planning is over, and now it is simply a matter of implementation.
No set date on when the site will be live, but at some point between now and the North America Cup 4 in Kentucky this fall everything should be worked out and we will have yet another resource for our games community.

I like Web Standards. [http://www.w3c.org]
I especially like browsers that support Web Standards.
If you are using Internet Explorer [any version] your internet experience is “broken”.
A standards compliant browser such as Firefox or Safari will ensure that your experience on this, and every other site, is consistent and works.
And, for very selfish reasons, this site will look better [especially as I make updates and changes to the layout] so you can better enjoy it!
Please, improve your online experience: download a better browser.

I am excited to let all of you know that I’ve got all of the photos from the weekend [North America Cup 2, 2007] together, nearly 850 of them [!!!], and I have been sorting, retouching, and working hard to present you with a great way to experience it again.
As of this moment there are two sets of photos posted to my Flickr account for you to enjoy: a collection of “highlights” from Saturday and Sunday.
If you are new to Flickr, or have not used it before, it’s great.
Really. Just great.

For results, you can go to the CMGA site.
However, you came here for photos, not stats!
Check out the highlights from Saturday as well as Sunday.
And, of course, all of the other photos and sets that I have on Flickr by visiting www.flickr.com/photos/chadchabot/.
More to come later.

Held at Windsong Stables, near Pontypool, ON, the annual CMGA Symposium/Demo/Clinic took place on Saturday May 19th.
I have some fun photos from the sidelines, but not many of the actual riding.
You can thank Pa Cruikshanks for that.
But how can you blame anything on that smile?
